Share the Love in Tualatin

*The event has already taken place on this date: Thu, 02/29/2024
Hunt for hidden hand-blown glass hearts scattered throughout Tualatin parks and trails the entire month of February. Keep the heart as a reminder of the love we have for our city or share the love by hiding it again for another person to discover. Snap a photo and tag us at #ShareTheLoveTualatin. Brought to you by your City of Tualatin Parks and Recreation Department. The hearts will be hidden in Atfalati Park, Browns Ferry Park, Ibach Park, Jurgens Park, Little Woodrose Natural Area, Lafky Park, Las Casitas Park, Commons Park, Community Park, the Lake of the Commons, Sweek Pond Natural Area. Hearts will also be hidden along city greenway trails including Chieftain Dakota, Hedges Creek, Hi-West, Ice Age Tonquin Trail, Saum Creek, Shaniko, and the Tualatin River Greenway Trail.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Who hides the hearts?

  • The hearts are hidden by City of Tualatin employee volunteers. The Heart Ninjas are very stealthy and enjoy finding creative places to place the hearts.

When are the hearts hidden?

  • The hearts are hidden throughout the month of February.
  • A new batch of hearts will be hidden each week.
  • There is no specific day of the week or time of day that the hearts are hidden. Volunteers are assigned one of four weeks to hide hearts in specific parks and greenways. They can hide them all at once or throughout the assigned week at their convenience.

Where are the hearts hidden?

  • The hearts will be hidden in Atfalati Park, Browns Ferry Park, Ibach Park, Jurgens Park, Little Woodrose Natural Area, Lafky Park, Las Casitas Park, Commons Park, Community Park, the Lake of the Commons, Sweek Pond Natural Area. Hearts will also be hidden along city greenway trails including Chieftain Dakota, Hedges Creek, Hi-West, Ice Age Tonquin Trail, Saum Creek, Shaniko, and the Tualatin River Greenway Trail. PARKS MAP
  • You will not need to climb or dig for the hearts.

Why don't we see very many posts on social media by people that have found hearts?

  • If the person posting on Facebook has their privacy setting to "Friends Only" we won't be able to see the post. We can only see the posts that are set with a "Public" privacy setting.
  • Sometimes people forget to use the hashtag #ShareTheLoveTualatin or use the wrong hashtag.
  • Not everyone that finds a heart remembers to post a photo.

I didn't find a heart. Can I buy one?

  • The City of Tualatin does not sell the hearts but they are available from artist Timothy Jaquet! Visit his website to order. Tim has limited stock available so don't delay if you would like to order one. He has the hearts on sale until the end of February.

How can we support this amazing community event?
